We have an intense desire to see our local community transformed, but our passion doesn’t stop there. We believe that followers of Jesus are called to share His message of love and grace with people all around the world.
We help share the good news around the globe in a number of ways. We support missionaries who work in different parts of Oregon, the US, and around the world, many of whom have direct connections with Suburban. We also send work teams to help support missionaries on their turf.

Missions
Suburban is sharing the good news of Jesus in our own backyard and partnering with others to share the message around the world through short and long-term missionaries. God has been doing some amazing things.
Christ said “… and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8).

Types of Mission Outreach
Short-term Missions:
We send people on numerous short term mission trips every year. It is a great opportunity to open our eyes to God’s heart to reach the nations for Him. From Suburban-organized trips to individuals obeying the call to go through another organization, God is expanding our love for His creation.

Sister Churches
We also enjoy relationship with two Sister Churches, one in Haiti and one in Latvia. We respect and appreciate the impact these churches have on their communities. Our hope is to encourage and help them in their work to introduce those around them to the full free life that comes in knowing Jesus.
Matthews Church, Latvia – (use Google translate for English translation) Suburban established a sister-church relationship with Matthews Church in 2013. We have partnered with Matthews Church in doing volleyball outreach camps for several years and in assisting with their youth camps. Several of their pastors have spent time in Corvallis with Suburban and several of Suburban’s pastors have visited Matthews Church in Riga.

Some think missions is only overseas, but missions is anywhere there are people who need to know about Jesus. We support Love INC and we partner with Southside Youth Outreach, Options Pregnancy Center, and other organizations in our community.
